2024 will mark the 22nd edition of EPHJ, Switzerland's biggest international trade show. This year’s event, set to run from 11 to 14 June, will bring together more than 750 exhibitors in Geneva to showcase the know-how and industrial high-precision expertise.
Geneva, 15 May 2024 – In less than a month, the 22nd EPHJ Show will open its doors, once again bringing together Swiss and international players in the watchmaking, jewellery, microtechnology and medical industry.
This year’s Show reflects the good health of the watch market and its powers of innovation. "We'll be at maximum capacity," says Alexandre Catton, Director of the EPHJ Show. "Almost all exhibition space is sold out and we'll be welcoming more than 750 exhibitors."
These companies come from many European countries and Japan. They are mainly active in watchmaking and jewellery (92%), followed by microtechnologies (54%) and medtech (50%). These numbers demonstrate the diversification of many companies specialising in high-precision technologies that are applicable in these three sectors.
After hitting the milestone of 21,000 trade visitors in 2023, EPHJ will once again be attracting visitors from more than fifty countries and five continents. Not only will they be there to meet their suppliers in a single location, but also to discover and explore the innovations that are set to shape the future development of these technologies.
Multiple major innovations, premières and previews sure to set off this year's show have already been announced. The unveiling of the 2024 Exhibitors Grand Prix – voted on by the exhibitors – will celebrate the most remarkable of these innovations.
The other great benefit of the EPHJ Show is that it serves as a venue for debate and discussion, enabling attendees to gain perspective on current topics and promoting sharing by and between experts and prominent industry personalities. EPHJ's celebrated Round Tables will kick off on 11 June with a debate assessing the current situation of bilateral economic negotiations between Switzerland and the European Union in the presence of the EU ambassador to Switzerland and other personalities.
On 12 June, the traditional Round Table on developments in the watchmaking industry and its impact on subcontracting will see experts and business leaders comparing opinions, focusing in particular on the ongoing improvement in the high-end of the market and the reduction in volumes correlated with the decline in the mid-range.
On 13 June, a highly anticipated Round Table on Gold, the price of virtue? Will enable a discussion on the Swiss Better Gold Association's initiative on gold traceability, the price of sustainable gold and the impact of this development on subcontracting and refiners.
EPHJ will also be innovating by organising the Innovation Forum on 12 June at 2 p.m. This key event will bring together the six nominees for the Exhibitors Grand Prize, but will also lift the veil on the major innovations that are waiting for EPHJ prior to their world preview. The Swiss Chronometry Society (SSC), which is celebrating its centenary this year at EPHJ, will also take part in the Forum.
13 June will be dedicated to an AI for Healthcare & Medtech Masterclass on the impact of artificial intelligence in these sectors, as experienced by experts and players in the field, including from EPFL, CSEM or Health Valley. This will include exploring the new opportunities offered by AI in the healthcare sector, finding out about the latest technological advances and the essential regulatory implications.
Another highly anticipated highlight of the EPHJ Show is the Job Dating Day (Friday 14 June), providing an opportunity for candidates and recruiting companies to meet. More than 200 candidates came to Palexpo in 2023 for this event. This last day will also provide an opportunity to assess the situation on the job market with the relevant stakeholders during a Round Table dedicated to this topic.

La 22ème édition du Salon EPHJ affiche complet !
L’édition 2024 du plus important salon professionnel international suisse rassemblera plus de 750 exposants à Genève, du 11 au 14 juin prochains, autour des savoir-faire et des compétences industrielles de la haute précision dans les secteurs de l’horlogerie-joaillerie, des microtechniques et des medtechs.
Genève, le 15 mai 2024 – Dans un mois, les portes de la 22ème édition du Salon EPHJ s’ouvriront sur un événement qui va à nouveau rassembler les acteurs suisses et internationaux de l’industrie et de l’artisanat horloger-joailler, microtechnique et médicale.
Une édition qui reflète la bonne santé du marché horloger et sa puissance d’innovation. « Nous serons au maximum de nos capacités d’accueil, annonce Alexandre Catton, directeur du Salon EPHJ. Il n’y a quasiment plus de surface disponible et nous allons accueillir plus de 750 exposants. »
Ces entreprises viennent de très nombreux pays européens et du Japon. Elles sont essentiellement actives dans l’horlogerie-joaillerie (92%) suivi des microtechnologies (54%) et des Medtech (50%). Des chiffres qui démontrent la diversification de nombreuses entreprises spécialisées dans les technologies de haute précision applicables dans ces trois secteurs.
Après avoir franchi le cap des 21'000 visiteurs professionnels en 2023, EPHJ attirera à nouveau des visiteurs de plus d’une cinquantaine de pays et représentant les 5 continents. Ils viennent non seulement rencontrer leurs fournisseurs en un seul lieu mais également découvrir les innovations qui vont marquer l’évolution de ces technologies.
Plusieurs grandes innovations, premières et avant-premières qui marqueront cette édition sont d’ores et déjà annoncées. La révélation du Grand Prix des Exposants 2024 célèbrera l’une des plus remarquables d’entre elles après le vote des exposants.
L’autre atout du Salon EPHJ, c’est le débat, la mise en perspective des sujets d’actualité et l’échange entre des experts et des personnalités du secteur. Les fameuses Tables rondes EPHJ débuteront le 11 juin avec un premier débat qui fera un point de situation sur les négociations économiques bilatérales entre la Suisse et l’Union européenne en présence, notamment de l’ambassadeur de l’UE en Suisse.
Le 12 juin, la traditionnelle Table ronde dédiée à l’évolution du marché horloger et à ses conséquences sur la sous-traitance confrontera l’avis des experts et des chefs d’entreprise en s’intéressant notamment au renforcement récurrent du haut-de-gamme et la diminution des volumes corrélée à la baisse du moyen de gamme.
Le 13 juin, une Table ronde très attendue intitulée « Or, le prix de la vertu ? » permettra de débattre autour de l’initiative de Swiss Better Gold Association, de la traçabilité de l’or, du prix de l’or durable et de l’impact de cette évolution sur la sous-traitance et les raffineurs.
EPHJ innove également avec l’organisation du Forum de l’innovation le 12 juin à 14h00. Un temps fort qui permettra de réunir les 6 nominés au Grand Prix des Exposants mais aussi de lever le voile sur les grandes innovations qui attendent EPHJ avant d’être présentées en avant-première mondiale. La Société Suisse de Chronométrie (SCC) qui fête cette année son centenaire à EPHJ, sera également associée à ce Forum.
La journée du 13 juin sera notamment dédiée à une Masterclass AI for Healthcare & Medtech autour de l’impact de l’intelligence artificielle dans ces secteurs vu par des experts et des acteurs de terrain, notamment de l’EPFL, du CSEM ou de la Health Valley. Il s’agira par exemple d’explorer les nouvelles opportunités offertes par l’IA dans le domaine de la santé, de s’informer des dernières avancées technologiques et des incontournables implications règlementaires.
Autre temps fort désormais très attendu du Salon EPHJ, le Job Dating Day, organisé le vendredi 14 juin, permettra aux candidats et aux entreprises qui recrutent de se rencontrer. En 2023, plus de 200 candidats s’étaient déplacés à Palexpo. Ce dernier jour sera aussi l’occasion de faire un point de situation sur le marché de l’emploi avec les acteurs concernés lors d’une Table ronde dédiée à ce thème.
