Siemens awarded Fraunhofer spin-off plus10 2nd place in the Industrial AI Award. The AI solution HOPPER impressed with measurable efficiency gains in MedTech production – demonstrated in real-world use with staked needle syringe manufacturing.
At the international AI with Purpose Summit 2025, Siemens awarded the Fraunhofer IPA spin-off plus10 the 2nd place in the prestigious Industrial AI Award. The recognized solution, HOPPER, learns from high-frequency machine control and contextual production data to automatically adjust parameters for complex molds – reducing fluctuating scrap rates and cycle times.
Selected from over 60 applicants, plus10 presented a real-world use case in collaboration with special-purpose machine builder ZAHORANSKY: optimizing the production of staked needle syringes. The implementation of HOPPER enabled 6–18% efficiency gains in continuous 24/7 production.
In addition, HOPPER simplifies multi-machine operation, speeds up relocation phases, and helps reduce the ramp-up time for new production lines by up to 20%. The solution is GMP-compliant and ideally suited for regulated manufacturing environments.
