Sustainably reduce process costs with precision bars

We specialise in the most precise processes. A lot can be gained with precise surfaces and tolerances. With a little more input, you get up to three times more output. At the same time, reliable and reproducible processes will significantly increase profitability.

Precision results in precision again
‘Precise’ means exact, ‘precise’ means unambiguous and clear. Swiss industry, and with it Swiss SMEs, are true masters of precision manufacturing. We at thyssenkrupp Materials Switzerland are also committed to precision. In the field of precision rods made of titanium, stainless steel and other materials, we already offer important services along the supply chain to companies in the watchmaking industry, medical technology and manufacturers of measuring and control instruments, sensors and optical devices or process control systems.

Absolutely precise primary material is a prerequisite
There is one important prerequisite for precision in these industries: the raw material must be supplied with absolute reliability and precision. Precise components can only be produced from profile or round bars if precision is also provided as input. If the bar is ‘unbalanced’, i.e. the profile is out of round, the precision and accuracy of the production machine and therefore the component is jeopardised. High-quality manufacturing productivity thanks to roundness, tight tolerances and evenly ground surfaces. Up to h5 tolerances.

A little more input enables a multiplier effect on output. Pull the lever now!
thyssenkrupp Materials Schweiz supplies precision ground materials according to customer-specific requirements. A little more input often means a disproportionately higher output. In other words: If you invest a little more in precision and quality in the primary material, you can expect disproportionately lower process costs, depending on the vertical range of manufacture. This cost reduction is not least due to longer machine service life and fewer rejects. This leverage effect will surprise you and will not only lead to significantly higher manufacturing accuracy and reproducibility of the components, but also enable a great pay-back.

At thyssenkrupp Materials Schweiz, we value precision and this is becoming an increasingly important factor. We have specialised in these processes. With precisely documented and defined processes, your materials are ordered and tested at certified plants. The selection of reliable premium manufacturers is the key to your process reliability.

Wide range of bright steel
As a focal point of our product range, we stock a standard bright steel range with a variety of steel grades in a wide range of shapes and designs using state-of-the-art storage technology. A distinction is made between drawn, peeled and ground finishes, up to tolerance h5 on request. The machined surfaces also have a lower roughness. Our bars are ideal for all types of machining, especially for use on automatic lathes as well as for milling and drilling. Less processing effort, higher labour productivity and lower material losses pay off. With all the positive effects of high-quality primary material, the improved precision of your components is the most valuable benefit.

Precise pre-material for bone screws - provided in accordance with ISO 13485-certified processes

The bone screw is a medical aid that is fixed into the bone after accidents in the case of complicated bone fractures, fractures and splinters in order to connect the bone fragments together. Nowadays, these implants are manufactured with minimal wall thicknesses. For longer screws, the roundness and surface quality of the pre-material is a decisive aspect. Surface grooves can lead to breakage of the highly loaded screws. The same applies if the pre-material is unbalanced: this can lead to different wall thicknesses of the centre-drilled screws. The consequences of maximum loads are usually screw fractures in the body.
